Entering the Kingdom

¹³ “Enter through the narrow gate.^(A) For the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction,^(B) and there are many who go through it. ¹⁴ How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.

A Warning about the World

¹⁵ Do not love the world^(A) or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh,^(B) the lust of the eyes,^(C) and the pride^(D) in one’s possessions—is not from the Father, but is from the world.

⁸ The Lord is the one who will go before you.^(A) He will be with you; he will not leave you or abandon you.^(B) Do not be afraid or discouraged.”
