⁴⁴ But I say to you, ^(A)Love your enemies and ^(B)pray for those who persecute you, ^45 (C)so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and ^(D)sends rain on the just and on the unjust. ^46 (E)For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

²² And have mercy on those who doubt;

¹⁶ Therefore, ^(A)confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, ^(B)that you may be healed. ^(C)The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.^[a]
