²³ Therefore, if you are ^(A)presenting your ^[a]offering at the altar, and there you remember that your brother has something against you, ²⁴ leave your ^[b]offering there before the altar and go; first be ^(B)reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your ^[c]offering.

³⁸ “^(A)You have heard that it was said, ‘^(B)Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ ³⁹ But I say to you, do not show opposition against an evil person; but ^(C)whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other toward him also.

^14 (A)For if you forgive other people for their ^[a]offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ¹⁵ But ^(B)if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your ^[b]offenses.
