⁸ Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.^{(A) 9} And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’^(B) I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

⁸ Come near to God and he will come near to you.^(A) Wash your hands,^(B) you sinners, and purify your hearts,^(C) you double-minded.^(D)

⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins^(A) and purify us from all unrighteousness.^(B)
