^16 (A)When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and ^[a]He saw ^(B)the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. ^17 (C)And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, ^(D)“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

^19 (A)Go ^[a]therefore and ^(B)make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

²³ that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. ^(A)He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

^30 (A)I and My Father are one.”

⁹ Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? ^(A)He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? ¹⁰ Do you not believe that ^(B)I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you ^(C)I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

The Coming Rejection

^26 (A)“But when the ^[a]Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, ^(B)He will testify of Me.

¹³ However, when He, ^(A)the Spirit of truth, has come, ^(B)He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. ^14 (C)He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. ^15 (D)All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He ^[a]will take of Mine and declare it to you.
