29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Here is the Lamb of God,(D) who takes away the sin(E) of the world! 30 This is the One I told you about: ‘After me comes a man who has surpassed me, because He existed before me.’ 31 I didn’t know Him,(F) but I came baptizing with[e] water so He might be revealed(G) to Israel.”
32 And John testified, “I watched the Spirit(H) descending from heaven like a dove, and He rested on Him.(I) 33 I didn’t know Him, but He[f] who sent me to baptize with[g] water told me, ‘The One you see the Spirit descending and resting on—He is the One who baptizes with[h] the Holy Spirit.’(J) 34 I have seen and testified that He is the Son of God!”[i](K)
35 Again the next day, John was standing with two of his disciples. 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look! The Lamb of God!”

John Testifies About Jesus
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God,(E) who takes away the sin of the world!(F) 30 This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’(G) 31 I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.”
32 Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him.(H) 33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water(I) told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’(J) 34 I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”[b](K)
John’s Disciples Follow Jesus(L)
35 The next day John(M) was there again with two of his disciples. 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”(N)
