¹⁸ Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.^{(A) 19} Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,^(B) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,^{(C) 20} and teaching^(D) them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you^(E) always, to the very end of the age.”^(F)

³ Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized^(A) into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? ⁴ We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death^(B) in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead^(C) through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.^(D)

⁵ For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.^{(E) 6} For we know that our old self^(F) was crucified with him^(G) so that the body ruled by sin^(H) might be done away with,^[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin^(I)— ⁷ because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.^(J)

⁸ Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.^(K)

¹³ For we were all baptized^(A) by^[a] one Spirit^(B) so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free^(C)—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.^(D)

²⁷ for all of you who were baptized into Christ^(A) have clothed yourselves with Christ.^(B)
