The Great Commission(A)

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain (B)which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some (C)doubted.

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, (D)“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 (E)Go [a]therefore and (F)make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 (G)teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am (H)with you always, even to the end of the age.” [b]Amen.

15 (A)And He said to them, “Go into all the world (B)and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 (C)He who believes and is baptized will be saved; (D)but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these (E)signs will follow those who [a]believe: (F)In My name they will cast out demons; (G)they will speak with new tongues; 18 (H)they[b] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; (I)they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Christ Ascends to God’s Right Hand(J)

19 So then, (K)after the Lord had spoken to them, He was (L)received up into heaven, and (M)sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them (N)and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

The Ascension(A)

50 And He led them out (B)as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51 (C)Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. 52 (D)And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually (E)in the temple [a]praising and blessing God. The Holy Spirit Promised

(A)And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have (B)heard from Me; (C)for John truly baptized with water, (D)but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, (E)“It is not for you to (F)know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. (G)But you shall receive power (H)when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and (I)you shall be [a]witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and (J)Samaria, and to the (K)end of the earth.”

Jesus Ascends to Heaven(L)

(M)Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, (N)He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them (O)in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, (P)will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

The Upper Room Prayer Meeting

12 (Q)Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey. 13 And when they had entered, they went up (R)into the upper room where they were staying: (S)Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and (T)Simon the Zealot; and (U)Judas the son of James. 14 (V)These all continued with one [b]accord in prayer [c]and supplication, with (W)the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with (X)His brothers.
