The Great Commission

¹⁶ Now the eleven disciples ^(A)went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. ¹⁷ And when they saw him they ^(B)worshiped him, but some doubted. ¹⁸ And Jesus came and said to them, ^(C)“All authority ^(D)in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ^19 (E)Go therefore and ^(F)make disciples of ^(G)all nations, ^(H)baptizing them ^(I)in^{[a] (J)}the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them ^(K)to observe all that ^(L)I have commanded you. And behold, ^(M)I am with you always, to ^(N)the end of the age.”

¹⁵ And he said to them, ^(A)“Go into all the world and ^(B)proclaim the gospel to ^(C)the whole creation. ^16 (D)Whoever believes and is ^(E)baptized ^(F)will be saved, but ^(G)whoever ^(H)does not believe will be condemned. ¹⁷ And ^(I)these signs will accompany those who believe: ^(J)in my name they will cast out demons; ^(K)they will speak in new tongues; ^18 (L)they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; ^(M)they will lay their hands ^(N)on the sick, and they will recover.”

¹⁹ So then the Lord Jesus, ^(O)after he had spoken to them, ^(P)was taken up into heaven and ^(Q)sat down at the right hand of God. ²⁰ And they went out and preached everywhere, while ^(R)the Lord worked with them and confirmed ^(S)the message ^(T)by accompanying signs.]]

⁴⁴ Then he said to them, ^(A)“These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, ^(B)that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” ⁴⁵ Then ^(C)he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, ⁴⁶ and said to them, “Thus ^(D)it is written, ^(E)that the Christ should suffer and on the third day ^(F)rise from the dead, ⁴⁷ and that ^(G)repentance for^[a] the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed ^(H)in his name ^(I)to all nations, ^(J)beginning from Jerusalem. ^48 (K)You are witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ And behold, I am sending ^(L)the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you ^(M)are clothed with ^(N)power ^(O)from on high.”

The Ascension

⁵⁰ And ^(P)he led them out as far as ^(Q)Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. ⁵¹ While he blessed them, ^(R)he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. ⁵² And they ^(S)worshiped him and ^(T)returned to Jerusalem ^(U)with great joy, ⁵³ and ^(V)were continually in the temple ^(W)blessing God.
