Jesus Before Pilate

11 (A)Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, “Are You the (B)King of the Jews?” And Jesus said to him, (C)You yourself say it.” 12 And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, (D)He did not answer. 13 Then Pilate *said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?” 14 And (E)He did not answer him with regard to even a single [a]charge, so the governor marveled greatly.

Jesus’ Trial in Pilate’s Court

11 When Jesus stood in the presence of the governor, the governor asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?”

Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.”

12 When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. 13 Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many things they are testifying against you?”

14 But he did not answer him—not even one word, so that the governor was very surprised.
