⁵⁵ And many women ^(A)who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him, were there looking on from afar, ^56 (B)among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and ^[a]Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.

Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb^(C)

⁵⁷ Now ^(D)when evening had come, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.

⁶¹ And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting ^[a]opposite the tomb.

^46 (A)Then he bought fine linen, took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen. And he laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. ⁴⁷ And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses observed where He was laid.

Behold Your Mother

^25 (A)Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of ^(B)Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

^14 (A)Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and ^(B)did not know that it was Jesus. ¹⁵ Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?”

She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”

¹⁶ Jesus said to her, ^(C)“Mary!”

She turned and said to ^[a]Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ^(D)ascended to My Father; but go to ^(E)My brethren and say to them, ^(F)‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to ^(G)My God and your God.’ ”

^18 (H)Mary Magdalene came and told the ^[b]disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.

The Apostles Commissioned^(I)

^19 (J)Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were ^[c]assembled, for ^(K)fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, ^(L)“Peace be with you.” ²⁰ When He had said this, He ^(M)showed them His hands and His side. ^(N)Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

²¹ So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! ^(O)As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
