^51 (A)And behold, ^(B)the ^[a]veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and ^(C)the earth shook and the rocks were split. ⁵² Also the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the ^[b]saints who had ^(D)fallen asleep were raised; ⁵³ and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection, they entered ^(E)the holy city and appeared to many. ^54 (F)Now as for the centurion and those who were with him ^(G)keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw ^(H)the earthquake and the other things that were happening, they became extremely frightened and said, “Truly this was ^[c](I)the Son of God!”

^55 (J)And many women were there watching from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee while ^(K)caring for Him. ⁵⁶ Among them were ^(L)Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and ^(M)the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

^38 (A)And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. ^39 (B)And when the centurion, who was standing ^[a]right in front of Him, saw that He ^[b]died in this way, he said, “Truly this man was ^[c]the Son of God!”

^40 (C)Now there were also some women watching from a distance, among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of ^[d]James ^(D)the ^[e]Less and Joses, and ^(E)Salome. ⁴¹ When He was in Galilee, they used to follow Him and ^(F)serve Him; and there were many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem.

^47 (A)Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began ^(B)praising God, saying, “This man was in fact ^[a]innocent.” ⁴⁸ And all the crowds who came together for this spectacle, after watching what had happened, began to return home, ^[b](C)beating their chests. ^49 (D)And all His acquaintances and ^(E)the women who accompanied Him from Galilee were standing at a distance, seeing these things.
