Matthew 27:42-44

42 “He saved others, but he cannot save himself! He is the king of Israel! If he comes down[a] now from the cross, we will believe in him! 43 He trusts in God—let God, if he wants to, deliver him now[b] because he said, ‘I am God’s Son’!” 44 The[c] robbers who were crucified with him also spoke abusively to him.[d]

- Matthew 27:44 sn Matthew’s wording suggests that both of the criminals spoke abusively to him. If so, one of them quickly changed his attitude toward Jesus (see Luke 23:40-43).

New International Version
42 “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel!(A) Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe(B) in him. 43 He trusts in God. Let God rescue him(C) now if he wants him, for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” 44 In the same way the rebels who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him.
