31 Then Jesus *said to them, “You will all [a](A)fall away because of Me this night, for it is written, ‘(B)I will strike down the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be (C)scattered.’ 32 But after I have been raised, (D)I will go ahead of you to Galilee.” 33 But Peter answered and said to Him, “Even though all may [b]fall away because of You, I will never fall away.” 34 Jesus said to him, “(E)Truly I say to you that (F)this very night, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” 35 Peter *said to Him, “(G)Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You.” All the disciples said the same thing too.

Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial(A)
31 Then Jesus told them, “All of you will turn against me this very night, because it is written,
‘I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’[a]
32 However, after I have been raised, I will go to Galilee ahead of you.”
33 But Peter told him, “Even if everyone else turns against you, I certainly won’t!”
34 Jesus told him, “I tell you[b] with certainty, before a rooster crows this very night, you will deny me three times.”
35 Peter told him, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the disciples said the same thing.
