26 When Jesus had finished all these sayings, He said to His disciples, “You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to be crucified.”

Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people gathered in the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, and took counsel that they might take Jesus covertly and kill Him. But they said, “Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.”

Then were gathered together the chief priests, and the elders of the people, unto the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas; and they took counsel together that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him. But they said, Not during the feast, lest a tumult arise among the people.
