⁴⁹ So Judas came straight to Jesus. “Greetings, Rabbi!” he exclaimed and gave him the kiss.

²⁵ Judas, the one who would betray him, also asked, “Rabbi, am I the one?”

And Jesus told him, “You have said it.”

²⁶ Greet all the brothers and sisters with a sacred kiss.

³ “Hail! King of the Jews!” they mocked, as they slapped him across the face.

⁴⁵ You didn’t greet me with a kiss, but from the time I first came in, she has not stopped kissing my feet.

¹⁸ Then they saluted him and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!”

⁴⁵ As soon as they arrived, Judas walked up to Jesus. “Rabbi!” he exclaimed, and gave him the kiss.

²⁹ They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!” ³⁰ And they spit on him and grabbed the stick and struck him on the head with it.
