¹⁵ To one he gave five ^(A)talents,^[a] to another two, to another one, ^(B)to each according to his ability. Then he ^(C)went away.

²⁴ When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ^(A)ten thousand ^(B)talents.^[a]

¹³ Calling ^(A)ten of his servants,^[a] he gave them ten minas,^[b] and said to them, ‘Engage in business ^(B)until I come.’ ¹⁴ But ^(C)his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’

^48 (A)But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, ^(B)will receive a light beating. ^(C)Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.
