⁴³ But ^[a]be sure of this, that ^(A)if the head of the house had known ^(B)at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be ^[b]broken into.

³⁹ “^(A)But ^[a]be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be ^[b](B)broken into.

² For you yourselves know full well that ^(A)the day of the Lord ^[a]will come ^(B)just like a thief in the night.

³ So ^(A)remember ^[a]what you have received and heard; and keep it, and ^(B)repent. Therefore if you do not wake up, ^(C)I will come ^(D)like a thief, and you will not know at ^(E)what hour I will come to you.
