^38 (A)For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, ^(B)marrying and giving in marriage, until ^(C)the day when Noah entered the ark, ³⁹ and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, ^(D)so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

^26 (A)Just as it was in the days of ^(B)Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. ^27 (C)They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

⁷ By faith ^(A)Noah, being warned by God concerning ^(B)events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of ^(C)the righteousness that comes by faith.

²⁰ because^[a] they formerly did not obey, ^(A)when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, ^(B)while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, ^(C)eight persons, were brought safely through water.
