Matthew 23:33-24:2

³³ You serpents, ^(A)you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to ^(B)hell? ^34 (C)Therefore ^(D)I send you ^(E)prophets and wise men and ^(F)scribes, ^(G)some of whom you will kill and crucify, and ^(H)some you will ^(I)flog in your synagogues and ^(J)persecute from town to town, ³⁵ so that on you may come all ^(K)the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous ^(L)Abel to the blood of ^(M)Zechariah the son of Barachiah,^[a] whom you murdered between ^(N)the sanctuary and ^(O)the altar. ³⁶ Truly, I say to you, ^(P)all these things will come upon this generation.

Lament over Jerusalem

^37 (Q)“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that ^(R)kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have ^(S)gathered ^(T)your children together ^(U)as a hen gathers her brood ^(V)under her wings, and ^(W)you were not willing! ³⁸ See, ^(X)your house is left to you desolate. ³⁹ For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ^(Y)‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”

Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple

24 ^(Z)Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. ² But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, ^(AA)there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”
