Matthew 22:35-40

³⁵ One of them, an expert in the Law, tested him by asking, ³⁶ “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

³⁷ Jesus^[a] told him, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’^{[b] 38} This is the greatest and most important^[c] commandment. ³⁹ The second is exactly like it: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’^{[d] 40} All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.”
