Jesus Cleanses the Temple
12 Then Jesus entered the temple[a] and drove out all who were selling and buying in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 He said to them, “It is written,
‘My house shall be called a house of prayer’;
but you are making it a den of robbers.”
14 The blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he cured them. 15 But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the amazing things that he did, and heard[b] the children crying out in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became angry 16 and said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read,
‘Out of the mouths of infants and nursing babies
you have prepared praise for yourself’?”
17 He left them, went out of the city to Bethany, and spent the night there.
Jesus Curses the Fig Tree
18 In the morning, when he returned to the city, he was hungry. 19 And seeing a fig tree by the side of the road, he went to it and found nothing at all on it but leaves. Then he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once. 20 When the disciples saw it, they were amazed, saying, “How did the fig tree wither at once?”

12 (A)Gesù entrò nel tempio [di Dio] e ne scacciò tutti quelli che vendevano e compravano; rovesciò le tavole dei cambiamonete e le sedie dei venditori di colombi. 13 E disse loro: «È scritto: “La mia casa sarà chiamata casa di preghiera”[a], ma voi ne fate[b] un covo di ladri[c]».
14 Allora vennero a lui, nel tempio, dei ciechi e degli zoppi, ed egli li guarì.
15 Ma i capi dei sacerdoti e gli scribi, vedute le meraviglie che aveva fatte e i bambini che gridavano nel tempio: «Osanna al Figlio di Davide!», ne furono indignati 16 e gli dissero: «Odi tu quello che dicono costoro?» Gesù disse loro: «Sì. Non avete mai letto: “Dalla bocca dei bambini e dei lattanti hai tratto lode”[d]?»
17 E, lasciatili, se ne andò fuori dalla città, a Betania, dove passò la notte.
Il fico sterile
18 (B)La mattina, tornando in città, ebbe fame. 19 E, vedendo un fico sulla strada, gli si accostò, ma non vi trovò altro che foglie; e gli disse: «Mai più nasca frutto da te, in eterno». E subito il fico si seccò. 20 I discepoli, veduto ciò, si meravigliarono, dicendo: «Come mai il fico è diventato secco in un attimo?»

12 Und Jesus ging in den Tempel Gottes hinein und trieb alle hinaus, die im Tempel verkauften und kauften, und stieß die Tische der Wechsler um und die Stühle der Taubenverkäufer.
13 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Es steht geschrieben: »Mein Haus soll ein Bethaus genannt werden!«[a] Ihr aber habt eine Räuberhöhle daraus gemacht!
14 Und es kamen Blinde und Lahme im Tempel zu ihm, und er heilte sie.
15 Als aber die obersten Priester und die Schriftgelehrten die Wunder sahen, die er tat, und die Kinder, die im Tempel riefen und sprachen: Hosianna dem Sohn Davids!, da wurden sie entrüstet
16 und sprachen zu ihm: Hörst du, was diese sagen? Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Ja! Habt ihr noch nie gelesen: »Aus dem Mund der Unmündigen und Säuglinge hast du ein Lob bereitet«?[b]
17 Und er verließ sie, ging zur Stadt hinaus nach Bethanien und übernachtete dort.
Der unfruchtbare Feigenbaum. Die Macht des Glaubens
18 Als er aber früh am Morgen in die Stadt zurückkehrte, hatte er Hunger.
19 Und als er einen einzelnen Feigenbaum am Weg sah, ging er zu ihm hin und fand nichts daran als nur Blätter. Da sprach er zu ihm: Nun soll von dir keine Frucht mehr kommen in Ewigkeit! Und auf der Stelle verdorrte der Feigenbaum.
20 Und als die Jünger es sahen, verwunderten sie sich und sprachen: Wie ist der Feigenbaum so plötzlich verdorrt?

12 Jézus ezután bement a Templom területére, és kizavarta onnan azokat, aki ott árultak és vásároltak. Felborította a pénzváltók asztalait és a galambárusok padjait, 13 és rájuk szólt: „Ezt mondja az Írás: »Az én Házamat imádság házának fogják nevezni.«[a] Ti azonban »rablók barlangjává« tettétek!”[b]
14 Akkor vakok és sánták mentek Jézushoz a Templom területén, és ő meggyógyította őket. 15 A főpapok és a törvénytanítók látták Jézus csodálatos gyógyításait, és hallották, amint a gyerekek a Templom területén így kiáltoznak: „Hozsánna a Dávid Fiának!” Mindezek miatt nagyon megharagudtak, 16 és megkérdezték Jézustól: „Nem hallod, mit kiabálnak ezek a gyerekek?!”
„Hallom! — válaszolta Jézus. — De bizonyára olvastátok ezt az Írásban: »A csecsemők és a kisgyermekek szája által szereztél magadnak dicséretet.«”[c]
17 Ezzel otthagyta őket, kiment Jeruzsálemből, és Betániában töltötte az éjszakát.
A hit ereje(B)
18 Másnap korán reggel Jézus elindult Jeruzsálembe, s közben megéhezett. 19 Meglátott egy fügefát az út szélén, odament, de csak levelet talált rajta. Ezt mondta a fának: „Soha többé ne teremjen rajtad gyümölcs!” — az pedig azonnal kiszáradt.
20 A tanítványok látták ezt, és csodálkozva kérdezték: „Hogyan száradhatott ki a fügefa ilyen hirtelen?”

12 Jésus entra dans la cour du Temple. Il en chassa tous les marchands, ainsi que leurs clients. Il renversa les comptoirs des changeurs d’argent[a], ainsi que les chaises des marchands de pigeons, 13 et il leur dit : Il est écrit : On appellera ma maison une maison de prière[b], mais vous, vous en faites une caverne de brigands[c] !
14 Des aveugles et des paralysés s’approchèrent de lui dans la cour du Temple et il les guérit. 15 Quand les chefs des prêtres et les spécialistes de la Loi virent les miracles extraordinaires qu’il venait d’accomplir, quand ils entendirent les cris des enfants dans la cour du Temple : « Hosanna au Fils de David ! », ils se mirent en colère 16 et lui dirent : Tu entends ce qu’ils crient ?
– Oui, leur répondit Jésus. Et vous, n’avez-vous donc jamais lu cette parole :
De la bouche des petits enfants |et des nourrissons,
tu as tiré la louange[d] .
17 Puis il les laissa et quitta la ville pour se rendre à Béthanie, où il passa la nuit.
La malédiction du figuier(B)
18 Tôt le lendemain matin, en revenant vers la ville, il eut faim. 19 Il aperçut un figuier sur le bord de la route et s’en approcha ; mais il n’y trouva que des feuilles. Alors, il dit à l’arbre : Tu ne porteras plus jamais de fruit !
A l’instant même, le figuier devint tout sec.
20 En voyant cela, les disciples furent très étonnés et s’écrièrent : Comment ce figuier est-il devenu sec en un instant ?
