⁴⁴ And ^(A)the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and ^(B)when it falls on anyone, it will crush him.”^[a]

⁴⁵ When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he was speaking about them. ⁴⁶ And ^(C)although they were seeking to arrest him, ^(D)they feared the crowds, because they held him to be ^(E)a prophet.

¹² And ^(A)they were seeking to arrest him ^(B)but feared the people, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them. So they ^(C)left him and went away.
