⁴ And He answered and said, “Have you not read ^(A)that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, ⁵ and said, ‘^(B)For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and ^(C)the two shall become one flesh’? ⁶ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no person is to separate.”

⁶ But ^(A)from the beginning of creation, God ^(B)created them male and female. ^7 (C)For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother^[a], ^8 (D)and the two shall become one flesh; so they are no longer two, but one flesh.

⁸ For ^(A)man ^[a]does not originate from woman, but woman from man; ⁹ for indeed man was not created for the woman’s sake, but ^(B)woman for the man’s sake.

^31 (A)For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.

^13 (A)For it was Adam who was first ^[a]created, and then Eve. ¹⁴ And it was not Adam who was deceived, but ^(B)the woman was ^[b]deceived and ^[c]became a wrongdoer.
