¹⁸ “Assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

⁸ For I also am a man placed under ^(A)authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

Humility Cures Worldliness

⁷ Therefore submit to God. ^(A)Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

^22 (A)And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

²³ Now there was a man in their synagogue with an ^(B)unclean spirit. And he cried out, ²⁴ saying, “Let us alone! ^(C)What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I ^(D)know who You are—the ^(E)Holy One of God!”

²⁵ But Jesus ^(F)rebuked him, saying, ^[a]“Be quiet, and come out of him!”
