Who Is the Greatest?

18 ^(A)At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” ² And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them ³ and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you ^(B)turn and ^(C)become like children, you ^(D)will never enter the kingdom of heaven. ^4 (E)Whoever humbles himself like this child is the ^(F)greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

²¹ She will bear a son, and ^(A)you shall call his name Jesus, ^(B)for he will save his people from their sins.”

¹⁴ And ^(A)the Word ^(B)became flesh and ^(C)dwelt among us, ^(D)and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son^[a] from the Father, full of ^(E)grace and ^(F)truth. ¹⁵ (^(G)John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ^(H)‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”) ¹⁶ For from ^(I)his fullness we have all received, ^(J)grace upon grace.^{[b] 17} For ^(K)the law was given through Moses; ^(L)grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. ^18 (M)No one has ever seen God; ^(N)God the only Son, who^[c] is at the Father's side,^{[d] (O)}he has made him known.
