Take Up the Cross and Follow Him^(A)

^24 (B)Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and ^(C)follow Me. ²⁵ For ^(D)whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

²¹ Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, ^(A)go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

²⁵ But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. ²⁶ Yet ^(A)it shall not be so among you; but ^(B)whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. ^27 (C)And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— ^28 (D)just as the ^(E)Son of Man did not come to be served, ^(F)but to serve, and ^(G)to give His life a ransom ^(H)for many.”
