¹⁸ And I also say to you that you are ^[a](A)Peter, and upon this ^[b]rock I will build My church; and the gates of ^(B)Hades will not overpower it. ¹⁹ I will give you ^(C)the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and ^(D)whatever you ^[c]bind on earth ^[d]shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you ^[e]loose on earth ^[f]shall have been loosed in heaven.”

⁴¹ So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand ^[a](A)souls. ⁴² They were ^(B)continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to ^(C)the breaking of bread and ^(D)to ^[b]prayer.

^43 [c]Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many ^(E)wonders and ^[d]signs were taking place through the apostles. ⁴⁴ And all the believers ^[e]were together and ^(F)had all things in common; ⁴⁵ and they ^(G)would sell their property and possessions and share them with all, to the extent that anyone had need. ^46 (H)Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and ^(I)breaking bread ^[f]from house to house, they were taking their ^[g]meals together with gladness and ^[h]sincerity of heart, ⁴⁷ praising God and ^(J)having favor with all the people. And the Lord ^(K)was adding to ^[i]their number day by day ^(L)those who were being saved.

¹¹ And ^(A)great fear came over the whole church, and over all who heard about these things.

^12 [a]At the hands of the apostles many ^[b](B)signs and wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all ^[c]together in ^(C)Solomon’s ^[d]portico. ¹³ But none of the rest dared to associate with them; however, ^(D)the people held them in high esteem. ¹⁴ And increasingly ^(E)believers in the Lord, large numbers of men and women, were being ^(F)added to their number,

²³ When ^(A)they had appointed ^(B)elders for them in every church, having ^(C)prayed with fasting, they ^(D)entrusted them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

⁵ So ^(A)the churches were being strengthened ^[a]in the faith, and were ^(B)increasing in number daily.

¹⁷ Only, ^(A)as the Lord has assigned to each one, as God has called each, in this way let him walk. And ^(B)so I direct in ^(C)all the churches.

^13 (A)Do you not know that those who ^(B)perform sacred services eat the food of the temple, and those who attend regularly to the altar have their share ^[a]from the altar? ¹⁴ So also ^(C)the Lord directed those who proclaim the ^(D)gospel to ^(E)get their living from the gospel.

²² And He ^(A)put all things in subjection under His feet, and made Him ^(B)head over all things to the church, ²³ which is His ^(C)body, the ^(D)fullness of Him who ^(E)fills ^(F)all in all.

¹⁰ so that the multifaceted ^(A)wisdom of God might now be ^(B)made known through the church to the ^(C)rulers and the authorities in ^(D)the heavenly places. ¹¹ This was in ^(E)accordance with the ^[a]eternal purpose which He ^[b]carried out in ^(F)Christ Jesus our Lord, ¹² in whom we have boldness and ^[c](G)confident ^(H)access through faith ^[d]in Him.
