¹⁸ And I tell you, ^(A)you are Peter, and ^(B)on this rock^[a] I will build my church, and ^(C)the gates of ^(D)hell^[b] shall not prevail against it.

¹⁷ And ^(A)he is before all things, and in him all things ^(B)hold together. ¹⁸ And ^(C)he is the head of the body, the church. He is ^(D)the beginning, ^(E)the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.

Wives and Husbands

^22 (A)Wives, ^(B)submit to your own husbands, ^(C)as to the Lord. ²³ For ^(D)the husband is the head of the wife even as ^(E)Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is ^(F)himself its Savior. ²⁴ Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit ^(G)in everything to their husbands.
