¹⁸ And I also say to you that you are ^[a](A)Peter, and upon this ^[b]rock I will build My church; and the gates of ^(B)Hades will not overpower it.

⁴² They were ^(A)continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to ^(B)the breaking of bread and ^(C)to ^[a]prayer.

¹⁵ For ^[a](A)such is the will of God, that by doing right you ^(B)silence the ignorance of foolish people.

⁸ “I am ^(A)the Alpha and the Omega,” says the ^(B)Lord God, “^(C)who is and who was and who ^[a]is to come, the Almighty.”

¹⁷ When I saw Him, I ^(A)fell at His feet like a dead man. And He ^(B)placed His right hand on me, saying, “^(C)Do not be afraid; ^(D)I am the first and the last, ¹⁸ and the ^(E)living One; and I ^[a](F)was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have ^(G)the keys of death and of Hades.

^15 [a]He is the ^(A)image of the ^(B)invisible God, the ^(C)firstborn of all creation: ¹⁶ for ^[b](D)by Him all things were created, ^(E)both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether ^(F)thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities—^(G)all things have been created through Him and for Him. ¹⁷ He ^[c](H)is before all things, and in Him all things ^[d]hold together. ¹⁸ He is also the ^(I)head of ^(J)the body, the church; and He is ^(K)the beginning, ^(L)the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

²⁰ having been ^(A)built on ^(B)the foundation of ^(C)the apostles and prophets, ^(D)Christ Jesus Himself being the ^(E)cornerstone,
