With their ears they scarcely hear,
And they have closed their eyes,
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
Hear with their ears,
Understand with their heart, and return,
And I would heal them.’

⁶⁹ The arrogant ^[a]have ^(A)forged a lie against me;
With all my heart I will ^(B)comply with Your precepts.
⁷⁰ Their heart is ^(C)insensitive, like fat,
But I ^(D)delight in Your Law.

^10 (A)Make the hearts of this people ^[a](B)insensitive,
Their ears ^[b]dull,
And their eyes ^[c]blind,
^(C)So that they will not see with their eyes,
Hear with their ears,
Understand with their hearts,
And return and be healed.”
