The Purpose of Parables^(A)

¹⁰ And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”

¹¹ He answered and said to them, “Because ^(B)it has been given to you to know the ^[a]mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. ^12 (C)For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

^29 (A)‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.

²⁴ Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. ^(A)With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. ^25 (B)For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”

The Parable of the Revealed Light^(A)

^16 (B)“No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the ^(C)light. ^17 (D)For nothing is secret that will not be ^(E)revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. ¹⁸ Therefore take heed how you hear. ^(F)For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he ^[a]seems to ^(G)have will be taken from him.”

²⁶ ‘For I say to you, ^(A)that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
