Jesus sent out these twelve after giving them instructions: “Don’t take the road that leads to the Gentiles, and don’t enter any Samaritan(A) town. Instead, go to the lost sheep(B) of the house of Israel.(C) As you go, proclaim, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’(D) Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with leprosy,[a] drive out demons.(E) Freely you received, freely give. Don’t acquire gold, silver, or copper for your money-belts.(F) 10 Don’t take a traveling bag for the road, or an extra shirt, sandals, or a staff, for the worker(G) is worthy of his food. 11 When you enter any town or village, find out who is worthy, and stay there until you leave. 12 Greet a household when you enter it,(H)

Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near.[a] Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!

“Don’t take any money in your money belts—no gold, silver, or even copper coins. 10 Don’t carry a traveler’s bag with a change of clothes and sandals or even a walking stick. Don’t hesitate to accept hospitality, because those who work deserve to be fed.

11 “Whenever you enter a city or village, search for a worthy person and stay in his home until you leave town. 12 When you enter the home, give it your blessing.
