⁴⁰ He who receives and welcomes and accepts you receives and welcomes and accepts Me, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts Me receives and welcomes and accepts Him Who sent Me.

⁴¹ He who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

⁴² And whoever gives to one of these little ones [in rank or influence] even a cup of cold water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose his reward.

⁵ And whoever receives and accepts and welcomes one little child like this for My sake and in My name receives and accepts and welcomes Me.

⁴⁰ And the King will reply to them, Truly I tell you, in so far as you did it for one of the least [^[a]in the estimation of men] of these My brethren, you did it for Me.^(A)

⁴⁵ And He will reply to them, Solemnly I declare to you, in so far as you failed to do it for the least [^[a]in the estimation of men] of these, you failed to do it for Me.^(A)

³⁷ Whoever in My name and for My sake accepts and receives and welcomes one such child also accepts and receives and welcomes Me; and whoever so receives Me receives not only Me but Him Who sent Me.
