A Cup of Cold Water^(A)

^40 (B)“He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. ^41 (C)He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. ^42 (D)And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”

³⁴ Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, ^(A)inherit the kingdom ^(B)prepared for you from the foundation of the world: ^35 (C)for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; ^(D)I was a stranger and you took Me in; ³⁶ I was ^(E)naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; ^(F)I was in prison and you came to Me.’

³⁷ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? ³⁸ When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? ³⁹ Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ ⁴⁰ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, ^(G)inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

⁴⁸ and said to them, ^(A)“Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and ^(B)whoever receives Me ^(C)receives Him who sent Me. ^(D)For he who is least among you all will be great.”

²⁴ whenever I journey to Spain, ^[a]I shall come to you. For I hope to see you on my journey, ^(A)and to be helped on my way there by you, if first I may ^(B)enjoy your company for a while. ²⁵ But now ^(C)I am going to Jerusalem to ^[b]minister to the saints. ²⁶ For ^(D)it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem. ²⁷ It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors. For ^(E)if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, ^(F)their duty is also to minister to them in material things. ²⁸ Therefore, when I have performed this and have sealed to them ^(G)this fruit, I shall go by way of you to Spain. ^29 (H)But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing ^[c]of the gospel of Christ.

³⁰ Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and ^(I)through the love of the Spirit, ^(J)that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me, ^31 (K)that I may be delivered from those in Judea who ^[d]do not believe, and that ^(L)my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, ^32 (M)that I may come to you with joy ^(N)by the will of God, and may ^(O)be refreshed together with you. ³³ Now ^(P)the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

¹⁰ For ^(A)God is not unjust to forget ^(B)your work and ^[a]labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ^(C)ministered to the saints, and do minister.
