Jesus Calls Twelve Followers and Sends Them Out ^(A)

10 Jesus called His twelve followers to Him. He gave them power to put out demons and to heal all kinds of sickness and disease.

Jesus Tells of His Death the Third Time ^(A)

¹⁷ As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, He talked also to the twelve followers by the side of the road. He said,

Saul Comes to Jerusalem

²⁶ When Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the followers. But they were afraid of him. They did not believe he was a true follower of Jesus.

² But the Jews who did not want to believe worked against those who were not Jews. They made them turn against the Christians.

⁴ We looked for the Christians and stayed with them seven days. The Christians had been told by the Holy Spirit to tell Paul not to go to Jerusalem.
