The Genealogy of Jesus Christ

1 ^(A)The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, ^(B)the son of David, ^(C)the son of Abraham.

^2 (D)Abraham was the father of Isaac, and ^(E)Isaac the father of Jacob, and ^(F)Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,

¹⁴ For it is evident that our Lord was descended ^(A)from Judah, and in connection with that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

⁵ And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, ^(A)the Lion ^(B)of the tribe of Judah, ^(C)the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”
