The Question about Fasting
14 Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often,[a] but your disciples do not fast?” 15 And Jesus said to them, “The wedding guests cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast. 16 No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old cloak, for the patch pulls away from the cloak, and a worse tear is made. 17 Neither is new wine put into old wineskins; otherwise, the skins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the skins are destroyed; but new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.”

Ma verranno i giorni in cui lo sposo sarà loro tolto, e allora digiuneranno. 16 Nessuno mette un pezzo di stoffa nuova sopra un vestito vecchio; perché quella toppa porta via qualcosa dal vestito vecchio e lo strappo si fa peggiore. 17 Neppure si mette vino nuovo in otri vecchi; altrimenti gli otri scoppiano, il vino si spande e gli otri si perdono; ma si mette il vino nuovo in otri nuovi e l’uno e gli altri si conservano».

14 Da kamen die Jünger des Johannes zu ihm und sprachen: Warum fasten wir und die Pharisäer so viel, deine Jünger aber fasten nicht?
15 Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Können die Hochzeitsgäste trauern, solange der Bräutigam bei ihnen ist? Es werden aber Tage kommen, da der Bräutigam von ihnen genommen sein wird, und dann werden sie fasten.
16 Niemand aber setzt einen Lappen von neuem Tuch auf ein altes Kleid, denn der Flicken reißt von dem Kleid, und der Riss wird schlimmer.
17 Man füllt auch nicht neuen Wein in alte Schläuche, sonst zerreißen die Schläuche, und der Wein wird verschüttet, und die Schläuche verderben; sondern man füllt neuen Wein in neue Schläuche, so bleiben beide miteinander erhalten.

15 Jézus így felelt: „Vajon gyászolnak-e a lakodalomban a vendégek, amíg velük van a vőlegény? De eljön az idő, amikor a vőlegényt elviszik tőlük. Akkor majd ők is böjtölni fognak.
16 Senki sem varr régi ruhára új szövetből foltot, mert az csak tovább szakítaná a régit, és még nagyobb lenne a szakadás. 17 Senki sem tölt új bort régi bortömlőbe, mert azok kiszakadnának és tönkre mennének, ráadásul a bor is szétfolyna.
