¹² But when Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not ^(A)those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. ¹³ But go and learn ^[a](B)what this means: ‘^(C)I desire ^[b]compassion, ^[c]and not sacrifice,’ for ^(D)I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

¹⁷ And hearing this, Jesus *said to them, “^(A)Those who are healthy do not have need for a physician, but only those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
