13 Now there were at ^(A)Antioch, in the ^(B)church that was there, ^(C)prophets and ^(D)teachers: ^(E)Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of ^(F)Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with ^(G)Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

⁴ Every man who has something on his head while praying or ^(A)prophesying disgraces his head.

⁸ Love never fails; but if there are gifts of ^[a](A)prophecy, they will be done away; if there are ^(B)tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.

Prophecy a Superior Gift

14 ^(A)Pursue love, yet ^(B)desire earnestly ^(C)spiritual gifts, but especially that you may ^(D)prophesy.

³⁹ Therefore, my brethren, ^(A)desire earnestly to ^(B)prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues.
