17 (A)From that time Jesus began to [a]preach and say, “(B)Repent, for the kingdom of heaven [b]is at hand.”
The First Disciples
18 (C)Now as Jesus was walking by (D)the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, (E)Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 And He *said to them, “[c]Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.” 20 Immediately they left their nets and followed Him. 21 Going on from there He saw two other brothers, [d](F)James the son of Zebedee, and his brother [e]John, in the boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets; and He called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.
Ministry in Galilee
23 Jesus was going (G)about in all of Galilee, (H)teaching in their synagogues and (I)proclaiming the [f]gospel of the kingdom, and (J)healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
24 And the news about Him spread (K)throughout Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and severe pain, (L)demon-possessed, people with (M)epilepsy, and people who were (N)paralyzed; and He healed them. 25 Large crowds (O)followed Him from Galilee and (P)the Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judea, and from (Q)beyond the Jordan.

17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven(A) has come near.”
Jesus Calls His First Disciples(B)
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee,(C) he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter(D) and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,”(E) Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him.(F)
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John.(G) They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.(H)
Jesus Heals the Sick
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee,(I) teaching in their synagogues,(J) proclaiming the good news(K) of the kingdom,(L) and healing every disease and sickness among the people.(M) 24 News about him spread all over Syria,(N) and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed,(O) those having seizures,(P) and the paralyzed;(Q) and he healed them. 25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis,[a] Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.(R)
