11 (A)I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. (B)He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit [a]and fire. 12 (C)His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will (D)burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

13 (F)Then Jesus came (G)from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. 14 And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”
15 But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.
16 (H)When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and [b]He saw (I)the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 (J)And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, (K)“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

The Baptism of Jesus(E)
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.(F) 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.
16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened,(G) and he saw the Spirit of God(H) descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven(I) said, “This is my Son,(J) whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”(K)

23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! (G)For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and (H)have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth(G) of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness.(H) You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
