28 सब्त के बाद जब रविवार की सुबह पौ फट रही थी, मरियम मगदलीनी और दूसरी स्त्री मरियम कब्र की जाँच करने आईं।

²क्योंकि स्वर्ग से प्रभु का एक स्वर्गदूत वहाँ उतरा था, इसलिए उस समय एक बहुत बड़ा भूचाल आया। स्वर्गदूत ने वहाँ आकर पत्थर को लुढ़का दिया और उस पर बैठ गया। ³उसका रूप आकाश की बिजली की तरह चमचमा रहा था और उसके वस्त्र बर्फ़ के जैसे उजले थे। ⁴वे सिपाही जो कब्र का पहरा दे रहे थे, डर के मारे काँपने लगे और ऐसे हो गये जैसे मर गये हों।

⁵तब स्वर्गदूत ने उन स्त्रियों से कहा, “डरो मत, मैं जानता हूँ कि तुम यीशु को खोज रही हो जिसे क्रूस पर चढ़ा दिया गया था। ⁶वह यहाँ नहीं है। जैसा कि उसने कहा था, वह मौत के बाद फिर जिला दिया गया है। आओ, उस स्थान को देखो, जहाँ वह लेटा था। ⁷और फिर तुरंत जाओ और उसके शिष्यों से कहो, ‘वह मरे हुओं में से जिला दिया गया है और अब वह तुमसे पहले गलील को जा रहा है तुम उसे वहीं देखोगे’ जो मैंने तुमसे कहा है, उसे याद रखो।”

⁸उन स्त्रियों ने तुरंत ही कब्र को छोड़ दिया। वे भय और आनन्द से भर उठी थीं। फिर यीशु के शिष्यों को यह बताने के लिये वे दौड़ पड़ीं। ⁹अचानक यीशु उनसे मिला और बोला, “अरे तुम!” वे उसके पास आयीं, उन्होंने उसके चरण पकड़ लिये और उसकी उपासना की। ¹⁰तब यीशु ने उनसे कहा, “डरो मत, मेरे बंधुओं के पास जाओ, और उनसे कहो कि वे गलील के लिए रवाना हो जायें, वहीं वे मुझे देखेंगे।”

Jesus Has Risen^(A)

28 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene^(B) and the other Mary^(C) went to look at the tomb.

²There was a violent earthquake,^(D) for an angel^(E) of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone^(F) and sat on it. ³His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.^(G) ⁴The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

⁵The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid,^(H) for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. ⁶He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.^(I) Come and see the place where he lay. ⁷Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.^(J) There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”

⁸So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. ⁹Suddenly Jesus met them.^(K) “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. ¹⁰Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers^(L) to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

16 सब्त का दिन बीत जाने पर मरियम मगदलीनी, सलौमी और याकूब की माँ मरियम ने यीशु के शव का अभिषेक कर पाने के लिये सुगन्ध-सामग्री मोल ली। ²सप्ताह के पहले दिन बड़ी सुबह सूरज निकलते ही वे कब्र पर गयीं। ³वे आपस में कह रही थीं, “हमारे लिये कब्र के द्वार पर से पत्थर को कौन सरकाएगा?”

⁴फिर जब उन्होंने आँख उठाई तो देखा कि वह बहुत बड़ा पत्थर वहाँ से हटा हुआ है। ⁵फिर जब वे कब्र के भीतर गयीं तो उन्होंने देखा कि श्वेत वस्त्र पहने हुए एक युवक दाहिनी ओर बैठा है। वे सहम गयीं।

⁶फिर युवक ने उनसे कहा, “डरो मत, तुम जिस यीशु नासरी को ढूँढ रही हो, जिसे क्रूस पर चढ़ाया गया था, वह जी उठा है! वह यहाँ नहीं है। इस स्थान को देखो जहाँ उन्होंने उसे रखा था। ⁷अब तुम जाओ और उसके शिष्यों तथा पतरस से कहो कि वह तुम से पहले ही गलील जा रहा है जैसा कि उसने तुमसे कहा था, वह तुम्हें वहीं मिलेगा।”

⁸तब भय और अचरज मे डूबी वे कब्र से बाहर निकल कर भाग गयीं। उन्होंने किसी को कुछ नहीं बताया क्योंकि वे बहुत घबराई हुई थीं।^[a]

कुछ अनुयायियों को यीशु का दर्शन

(मत्ती 28:9-10; यूहन्ना 20:11-18; लूका 24:13-35)

⁹सप्ताह के पहले दिन प्रभात में जी उठने के बाद वह सबसे पहले मरियम मगदलीनी के सामने प्रकट हुआ जिसे उसने सात दुष्टात्माओं से छुटकारा दिलाया था। ¹⁰उसने यीशु के साथियों को, जो शोक में डूबे, विलाप कर रहे थे, जाकर बताया। ¹¹जब उन्होंने सुना कि यीशु जीवित है और उसने उसे देखा है तो उन्होंने विश्वास नहीं किया।

¹²इसके बाद उनमें से दो के सामने जब वे खेतों को जाते हुए मार्ग में थे, वह एक दूसरे रूप में प्रकट हुआ। ¹³उन्होंने लौट कर औरों को भी इसकी सूचना दी पर उन्होंने भी उनका विश्वास नहीं किया।

शिष्यों से यीशु की बातचीत

¹⁴बाद में, जब उसके ग्यारहों शिष्य भोजन कर रहे थे, वह उनके सामने प्रकट हुआ और उसने उन्हें उनके अविश्वास और मन की जड़ता के लिए डाँटा फटकारा क्योंकि इन्होंने उनका विश्वास ही नहीं किया था जिन्होंने जी उठने के बाद उसे देखा था।

¹⁵फिर उसने उनसे कहा, “जाओ और सारी दुनिया के लोगों को सुसमाचार का उपदेश दो। ¹⁶जो कोई विश्वास करता है और बपतिस्मा लेता है, उसका उद्धार होगा और जो अविश्वासी है, वह दोषी ठहराया जायेगा। ¹⁷जो मुझमें विश्वास करेंगे, उनमें ये चिह्न होंगे: वे मेरे नाम पर दुष्टात्माओं को बाहर निकाल सकेंगे, वे नयी-नयी भाषा बोलेंगे, ¹⁸वे अपने हाथों से साँप पकड़ लेंगे और वे यदि विष भी पी जायें तो उनको हानि नहीं होगी, वे रोगियों पर अपने हाथ रखेंगे और वे चंगे हो जायेंगे।”

यीशु की स्वर्ग को वापसी

¹⁹इस प्रकार जब प्रभु यीशु उनसे बात कर चुका तो उसे स्वर्ग पर उठा लिया गया। वह परमेश्वर के दाहिने बैठ गया। ²⁰उसके शिष्यों ने बाहर जा कर सब कहीं उपदेश दिया, उनके साथ प्रभु काम कर रहा था। प्रभु ने वचन को आश्चर्यकर्म की शक्ति से युक्त करके सत्य सिद्ध किया।

Jesus Has Risen^(A)

16 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices^(B) so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. ²Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb ³and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”^(C)

⁴But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. ⁵As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe^(D) sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.

⁶“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene,^(E) who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. ⁷But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him,^(F) just as he told you.’”^(G)

⁸Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.^[a]

⁹When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene,^(H) out of whom he had driven seven demons. ¹⁰She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. ¹¹When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.^(I)

¹²Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country.^(J) ¹³These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.

¹⁴Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.^(K)

¹⁵He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.^(L) ¹⁶Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.^(M) ¹⁷And these signs^(N) will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons;^(O) they will speak in new tongues;^(P) ¹⁸they will pick up snakes^(Q) with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on^(R) sick people, and they will get well.”

¹⁹After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven^(S) and he sat at the right hand of God.^(T) ²⁰Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs^(U) that accompanied it.

¹⁰फिर वे शिष्य अपने घरों को वापस लौट गये। ¹¹मरियम रोती बिलखती कब्र के बाहर खड़ी थी। रोते-बिलखते वह कब्र में अंदर झाँकने के लिये नीचे झुकी। ¹²जहाँ यीशु का शव रखा था वहाँ उसने श्वेत वस्त्र धारण किये, दो स्वर्गदूत, एक सिरहाने और दूसरा पैताने, बैठे देखे।

¹³उन्होंने उससे पूछा, “हे स्त्री, तू क्यों विलाप कर रही है?”

उसने उत्तर दिया, “वे मेरे प्रभु को उठा ले गये हैं और मुझे पता नहीं कि उन्होंने उसे कहाँ रखा है?” ¹⁴इतना कह कर वह मुड़ी और उसने देखा कि वहाँ यीशु खड़ा है। यद्यपि वह जान नहीं पायी कि वह यीशु था।

¹⁵यीशु ने उससे कहा, “हे स्त्री, तू क्यों रो रही है? तू किसे खोज रही है?”

यह सोचकर कि वह माली है, उसने उससे कहा, “श्रीमान, यदि कहीं तुमने उसे उठाया है तो मुझे बताओ तुमने उसे कहाँ रखा है? मैं उसे ले जाऊँगी।”

¹⁶यीशु ने उससे कहा, “मरियम।”

वह पीछे मुड़ी और इब्रानी में कहा, “रब्बूनी” (अर्थात् “गुरु।”)

¹⁷यीशु ने उससे कहा, “मुझे मत छू क्योंकि मैं अभी तक परम पिता के पास ऊपर नहीं गया हूँ। बल्कि मेरे भाईयों के पास जा और उन्हें बता, ‘मैं अपने परम पिता और तुम्हारे परम पिता तथा अपने परमेश्वर और तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के पास ऊपर जा रहा हूँ।’”

¹⁸मरियम मग्दलिनी यह कहती हुई शिष्यों के पास आई, “मैंने प्रभु को देखा है, और उसने मुझे ये बातें बताई हैं।”

The Empty Tomb^(A)

20 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene^(B) went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.^(C) ²So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved,^(D) and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”^(E)

³So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb.^(F) ⁴Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. ⁵He bent over and looked in^(G) at the strips of linen^(H) lying there but did not go in. ⁶Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, ⁷as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head.^(I) The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen. ⁸Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first,^(J) also went inside. He saw and believed. ⁹(They still did not understand from Scripture^(K) that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)^(L) ¹⁰Then the disciples went back to where they were staying.

Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene

¹¹Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb^(M) ¹²and saw two angels in white,^(N) seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.

¹³They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?”^(O)

“They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.”^(P) ¹⁴At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there,^(Q) but she did not realize that it was Jesus.^(R)

¹⁵He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?^(S) Who is it you are looking for?”

Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”

¹⁶Jesus said to her, “Mary.”

She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic,^(T) “Rabboni!”^(U) (which means “Teacher”).

¹⁷Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers^(V) and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father^(W) and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

¹⁸Mary Magdalene^(X) went to the disciples^(Y) with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.
