70 But the one denied it in front of everyone, saying, “I do not know what you are saying”. 71 And he having gone out to the gate[a], another saw him. And she says to the ones there, “This one was with Jesus the Nazarene”. 72 And again he denied it with an oath that “I do not know the man”.

70 But he denied it before them all. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said.
71 Then he went out to the gateway, where another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
72 He denied it again, with an oath: “I don’t know the man!”
