³⁴“I’m telling you the truth,” said Jesus to him, “this very night, before the cock has crowed, you will deny me three times.”

³⁵“Even if I have to die with you,” said Peter to him, “I won’t ever deny you!”

And all the disciples said the same.

³⁶So Jesus went with them to the place called Gethsemane.

“You sit here,” he said to the disciples, “while I go over there and pray.”

³⁴“Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”^(A)

³⁵But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you,^(B) I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same.

³⁶Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”
