Matthew 24:45-51
Holman Christian Standard Bible
Faithful Service to the Messiah
45 “Who then is a faithful and sensible slave,(A) whom his master has put in charge of his household, to give them food at the proper time?(B) 46 That slave whose master finds him working(C) when he comes will be rewarded. 47 I assure you: He will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But if that wicked slave says in his heart, ‘My master is delayed,’ 49 and starts to beat his fellow slaves, and eats and drinks with drunkards,(D) 50 that slave’s master will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not know. 51 He will cut him to pieces[a] and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

45 “(A)Who then is the (B)faithful and (C)sensible slave whom his [a]master (D)put in charge of his household slaves, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Blessed is that slave whom his [b]master finds so doing when he comes. 47 Truly I say to you that (E)he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But if that evil slave says in his heart, ‘My [c]master [d]is not coming for a long time,’ 49 and he begins to beat his fellow slaves, and he eats and drinks with those habitually drunk; 50 then the [e]master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect, and at an hour that he does not know, 51 and he will [f]cut him in two and assign [g]him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be (F)weeping and gnashing of teeth.

45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant whom his master has put in charge of his household to give the others [in the house] their food and supplies at the proper time?(A) 46 Blessed is that [faithful] servant when his master returns and finds him doing so. 47 I assure you and most solemnly say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But if that servant is evil and says in his heart, ‘My master is taking his time [he will not return for a long while],’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards; 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour of which he is not aware, 51 and will cut him in two and put him with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping [over sorrow and pain] and grinding of teeth [over distress and anger].
