¹¹ Many ^(A)false prophets will arise and will deceive many.

²⁴ For false christs and ^(A)false prophets will arise and will ^[a]show great ^[b](B)signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even ^(C)the ^[c]elect.

³⁶ For some time ago Theudas rose up, ^(A)claiming to be somebody, and a group of about four hundred men joined up with him. ^[a]But he was killed, and all who ^[b]were following him were dispersed and came to nothing. ³⁷ After this man, Judas the Galilean rose up in the days of ^(B)the census and drew away people after him. He too perished, and all those who ^[c]were following him were scattered. ³⁸ So in the present case, I also say to you, stay away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or ^[d]action ^(C)is of men, it will be overthrown; ³⁹ but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or you may even be found ^(D)fighting against God.”

⁴⁰ So they ^[e]followed his advice. And after calling the apostles in and ^(E)beating them, they commanded them not to ^[f]speak in the name of Jesus, and then released them. ⁴¹ So they went on their way from the presence of the ^(F)Sanhedrin, ^(G)rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame ^(H)for the Name. ^42 (I)And every day, in the temple and ^[g]from house to house, they did not cease teaching and ^(J)proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the ^[h]Christ.

¹⁸ Children, ^(A)it is the last hour; and just as you heard that ^(B)antichrist is coming, ^(C)even now many antichrists have appeared. From this we know that it is the last hour.

³ and every spirit that ^(A)does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the ^(B)antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and ^(C)now it is already in the world.
