³⁷ And he said unto him, ^[a]Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. ³⁸ This is the great and first commandment. ^39 [b]And a second like unto it is this, ^[c]Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. ⁴⁰ On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.

³⁴ A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; ^[a]even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

¹² This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you.
