³And if anyone says anything unto you, ye shall say, The Lord has need of them; and straightway he will send them.

⁴All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

⁵Say unto the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King comes unto thee, meek and sitting upon an ass and a colt the foal of a beast under yoke.

³If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”

⁴This took place to fulfill^(A) what was spoken through the prophet:

⁵“Say to Daughter Zion,
‘See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”^[a]^(B)
