Matthew 21:3-5
International Children’s Bible

3 If anyone asks you why you are taking the donkeys, tell him, ‘The Master needs them. He will send them back soon.’” 4 This was to make clear the full meaning of what the prophet said:

5 “Tell the people of Jerusalem,
    ‘Your king is coming to you.
He is gentle and riding on a donkey.
    He is on the colt of a donkey.’” Isaiah 62:11; Zechariah 9:9

3 If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”

4 This took place to fulfill(A) what was spoken through the prophet:

5 “Say to Daughter Zion,
    ‘See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
    and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”[a](B)
